A tape-measure method we use on Malaysian floors before locking font sizes on a mural.

Five metres away: testing scoreboard type size

Before we commit vinyl or a large display layout, we print a cheap A0 draft and tape it to the actual wall. One person stands at the huddle spot — usually five metres for depots, three for compact plant rooms — and reads the primary number aloud without squinting.

If they hesitate, the type is too small or the contrast fails under the real lighting. Fluorescent glare on glossy laminate is a frequent culprit in Selangor warehouses; we switch to matte and bump the primary figure one step.

Secondary strip labels can be smaller, but exception rail owner names must stay spoken-word clear. We have watched facilitators skip unread names, which defeats the point of tagging responsibility.

Bring a tape measure to your next draft review. Distance is part of the brief, not a decoration detail.
